One on One - 1983 - Atari 8bit
1The Atari version of One on One is slightly better than the Apple II version, and it is still a great but difficult game.
With these titles, which are at a transitional phase between newer and older hardware, I often wonder if certain limitations are due to the restrictions presented by the older hardware or whether it is pure game design choice. There are two such elements here which come to my mind in this case: the simple sound and the lack of scrolling. The Atari could clearly handle that, but for the Apple II this game was probably already using up all computational resources.
