I would never class myself as a pro gamer and therefore games such as Onward I rarely play a lot as I feel I am a hinderance to my team, but if I am able to find games with people that don't take winning seriously and just enjoy getting the odd kill then i am in.

The great thing about Onward s far is that they have been able to take the time to set up a great user base and you will find plenty of game servers to join in various game modes or just create one yourself and invite your friends in.

The maps are huge, if a little stark in places, they have a feeling of early COD maps, and like those classic maps this makes for a great mixture of stealth and close up stand offs, learning the maps is important so that you are aware of locations you can defend or escape from if you have to hold the fort.

The guns themselves are nicely detailed and a combination of manual and automatic loading, the heavy machine guns i find particularly tricky to reload so tend to stay away from them, though having the shooting range to practice in gives you time to perfect the class that you want to be.

So far I am still learning the maps, i find the night time maps a little too dark and very difficult to spot an enemy, in fact in many of my first matches I didn't realise which team I was on, do need to pay more attention, especially when joining matches already in progress.

There seem to be a number of modes already available from defend or attack intel positions, shoot all the enemy or escort. Matches generally load up really quickly and thankfully there is an option for the host to allow for respawns so even if like me you die quickly, you can always jump back in and try again.

It is important to note that this is still early in the games development and with the communities input constant updates are being carried out, so don't expect the complete package just yet.
