Operation Europe Invasion of France Part 2
13The Invasion of France continues! This time we get our first actual combat, I'm in position to attack Givet (Northern City according to Wikipedia, part of France)) and Bouillion (Southern Belgium City), I'm attacked in the North from the bridge. French armies here have mostly infantry, there are some better equipped units, but I'm not facing them right now.
Basics of a battle is, when you can, let them get to your unit instead of going after theirs because you get first attack and that's huge. I usually gather around close to my artillery both to protect it, and to drive enemy units in range of it. The Zig Zag Attack move you see me doing allows me to target a specific unit, but give the troops permission to fire on any other unit they happen to run into, it's useful in a lot of scenarios.
This battle, though stalemated made taking Givet far far more easier. Enemy AI is your friend sometimes.
