Qualcomm announced the latest Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 and Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 single-chip systems for next-generation smartwatches on July 19, and on July 20, an Oppo spokesperson said that the company will be the first to launch a wearable device based on the new SoC. A couple of teasers have now been published confirming these words.

More precisely, the use of the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 platform in the Oppo Watch 3 is confirmed. Another picture shows the design of the watch – a promising novelty is somewhat similar to the Apple Watch. It also reports the use of a built-in SIM (eSIM) device and a fresh version of ColorOS Watch with an updated interface.

Whether the Oppo Watch 3 will be the very first Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 smartwatch, we'll find out soon. The premiere of new items is expected on August 10, but Mobvoi also wants to be among the first with their watches.
