Oriclopedia: The Oric Microdisc (3" Floppy Disk Drive)
Back in the days, the Oric range of computers was trying to be as affordable as possible, even trying to undercut Sinclair's already very low prices.
The Microdisc, a quite very nice product, was unfortunately very very expensive, so ultimately there was not many people owning one, which resulted in very few software being produced to exploit the floppy disk drives, which explains why 99.9% of all Oric software produced in the 80ies was released on tapes.
This is still a very desirable item for the modern Oric user, specially considering that most recent games and demos require a floppy drive.
This video tries to present some of the challenges and issues related to the use of Microdisc devices with Oric computers.
