The reimplementation of Fmod has been amazing for us. The old version we were using had hard caps on things like how quiet a sound was allowed to be. So no matter how far away you were, you were going to hear the sound. This made it so things like this creaking sub and the lapping water were audible from way up in the sky, though faintly.

This new version of Fmod has allowed me to really fine-tune the soundscape of the game. I can add sounds in places we couldn't realistically have them before simply because you'd always hear them. Imagine watching that old video where we fly outside the boundaries of this map and still hearing this creaking sub.
