Origin Effects: SlideRIG - Dual Chained Limiting Amplifier - DEMO

What's better than owning one of the world's greatest compressor pedals? Owning two! In fact, two of them running in series inside the same the box! And that's what you get with the SlideRIG. Two excellent recreations of the mighty UREI 1176 compressor running in series with two presets for rhythm and solo work. Slide players rejoice!
The UREI 1176 was the compressor of choice for Little Feat's Lowell George. He would run two of them in series along with his early Dumble amp and Strat to get his now legendary sound. A Sears and Roebuck 11/16 Craftsman Socket was his slide preference because he could pick one up wherever he went.
The UK's Simon Keats of Keats Audio, working under the banner of Origin Effects, has faithfully recreated the UREI 1176 and housed it in three stomps - Cali76-STD and TX (transformer version) and this pedal, the SlideRIG.
The SlideRIG's two compressors run in series at all times for extra squash. On the face of the pedal you will find two footswitches with which to engage two presets; each preset has its own set of Ratio, Output and Input/Comp controls. Internally you will find jumper plugs that you can use to set Treble Lift, Attack and Release and Bypass modes. Nothing is wanting here and once turned on the SlideRIG is very hard to turn off.
The SlideRIG is an extremely well built, unique and eminently usable pedal with fans and users that include one David Gilmour. I would count it as one of the best compressors I have ever had the pleasure of using and won't be selling mine ever.
"Our goal was to reproduce the slide guitar tones first heard on Little Feat's classic album, "Dixie Chicken". The tone is clean and transparent, with an almost infinite shimmering-sustain. For many this represents the ultimate in slide-tone. In the studio, the Little Feat tone was achieved by daisy-chain-connecting two Urei 1176 "FET" compressor channels. The 1176 has a fast response and a unique character. Chaining the compressor sections vastly increases the amount of compression and sustain..."
