30I know what you're thinking, "Orphen Scion of Sorcery... again?" In our first foray into the Tryinmorning Vault we bring to you a remastered version of an early let's play we made.
When watching back some older videos I noticed how poorly done many of my early attempts at editing went, particularly when trying to master audio. The main purpose of this remastered series is to bring that up to a more acceptable level to me. The raw commentary audio seemed to have at least been captured decently enough so that should be possible.
This first part of the Orphen is special because it also features recaptured video. The original capture of the first episode was from console output, while the later episodes were captured from PCSX2 rendered at higher resolutions. I decided to recapture this part because of how much better the higher resolution footage looks in later parts. For this part I captured the game at approximately 4k resolution, which is absolute overkill for the game but still looks oh so good. The following parts I plan to just use the original video footage I captured when first recording the let's play, along with the new audio mix of course.
Many of you may find the whole idea silly and not really be able to tell the difference anyway. I can only say that listening back to my own stuff it really sticks out to me at least, and so if nothing else it's a small project for me to put my mind at ease. Hopefully some of you out there can notice and appreciate the improvements as well!
Of course as many of you may know, the anime "Sorcerous Stabber Orphen" is getting remade. I figured what better time to revisit this.... and yes if somehow they ever officially remake this or create a new Orphen video game I promise I'll make a let's play for that as soon as possible!
