70Zeus presents Out Run (un-emulated) for the Megadrive, a true classic from the golden era of megadrive gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1991
The classic Out Run arrived on the Megadrive back in the early 90's and after the huge disappointment of the over hyped amiga version and the other home versions at the time, i was very keen to get my hands on this and i have to say i was quite happy.
It plays very well and looks very nice in action, only thing i think could have been more convincing is the tyre screech noise, it never sounded quite right to me, the most convincing tyre screeching in a game is super hang-on & lotus 2...both on the amiga.
I have included all 15 stages spread across 5 runs, all 5 endings and all 4 music tracks (step on beat is a bonus on this version but i don't like it.
Run 1 (00:00), Run 2 (10:12), Run 3 (19:55), Run 4 (29:54), Run 5 (39:40).
I feel this version is the best out of all the 8 & 16 bits, not sure about pc engine as i've never played it.
