OUTDATED - Ace Combat Zero - PCSX2 1.1.0.5766 test (hardware rendering)
OUTDATED - AC5/Z are now fully playable on PCSX2, with almost no graphical issues. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-z4rt3TRGA for a guide.
Proof of concept that ACZ is now, indeed, playable on the main PS2 emulator. Rendered at 4x native resolution (2048x1152, when set to 16:9), which is actually slightly more than 1080. As in the ACX test, settings must still be optimized, although I'm not sure that'll be possible: PS2 emulation and ACZ's in particular, is quite difficult. ACZ only recently became playable, and there are still plenty of issues: the ground texture bugging in the distance, the vertical lines that appear whenever rendering above native resolution, and perhaps most annoyingly, (rare) slowdowns such as the one seen in the intro cutscenes, which are not solvable by simply lowering the rendering resolution.
The video quality is really not optimal here, used the same settings as the previous videos but they don't work quite as well for ACZ.
P.S. - Before you ask, i am very much a Merc (by the game's standards: by mine, I'm just a knight who considers it thoroughly dishonorable to leave a battlefield cleansed), but those Gripens aren't going to unlock themselves, are they?
Oh, and forgive the noobishness. Shocking as it may be, up until now, I had played everything single Ace Combat EXCEPT for the famed PS2 ones: Zero was the first, and this is only the second playthrough. I reckon I didn't fare too abd, though.
