[Outdated] [CnD] Power Domination Pistol Chronomancer DpS Benchmark 42,033 | July 7 Balance Patch
Log: https://dps.report/Dtfe-20201216-204049_golem
Pistol is a niché weapon but in certain situations it can outperform Focus such as when adds are nearby and eat the warden projectiles, or when you need to fit more damage in under a short period of time, as the Phantasmal Duelist finishes both of its attacks in about 5,51 seconds plus you have about 8000-9000 damage from the Mesmer shot(which funnily enough seems to use the phantasm’s weapon strength, more on this later...)
It has also slightly more and faster cc — 250 versus 150 cc damage.
Magic Bullet is also useful for more situations than CC in real fights as it can:
* Proc Illusion of Vulnerability and Dazzling for 8 quick vulnerability stacks.
* Proc Delayed Reactions for more slow uptime quicker than focus.
* Deal Confusion Damage at a minimal cost if you use it while you are out of range or use it as a filler before you weapon swap.
-- The rotation --
The rotation is largely the same as focus except you have to account for the faster clone generation of pistol so shatter timings are slightly altered and an additional Illusionary Leap cancel was done in the first pistol loop.
The Golem ending differs slightly as you deal less damage, instead of just doing a double Blurred Frenzy with Mirror Images you add in the Phantasmal Duelist into your second cs.
The Second CS is however mostly irrelevant in actual fights but learning how to use CS creatively to burn the last couple %s of the boss when the situation arises is a fun and important part if you want to optimize your damage so practicing the Golem CS is not a complete waste of time.
Maybe you have noticed something about my Blurred Frenzy usage and that is that I cancel them towards the end.
I do this because the aftercast can vary heavily also because the attack finishes in about 675-700 ms.
A very important note is that you DO NOT want to spam Blurred Frenzy, as that can significantly delay its damage if you are unlucky and makes stowing it inconsistent, and harder.
I want to push people into adopting this for Mesmer as people do on Guardian, and other classes, as it increases your damage even if you do not get perfect cancels all the time because of Blurred Frenzy’s aftercast variance.
-- Stowing/cancelling/weapon swapping on Chronomancer/Mesmer --
This usage of Blurred Frenzy cancelling was just a stepping stone and there’s a lot more to find out about how things consistently work in this game when it comes to Mesmer and other classes.
There are other ideas that I want to implement in the future.
Shortening aftercasts is something that is new to Mesmer but prevalent in other classes but it has a lot of potential to increase our dps.
-- Finally --
If you are interested in Chronomancer damage numbers I have this sheet I made that calculates damage based on your build and attributes.
