Outlast 2 will be coming out soon, so I decided to give myself a refresher by playing through Outlast again. The first time I beat this game, I didn't record any of it because I wasn't that invested in my YouTube channel back then. Anyway, I decided to go all-out on this playthrough and try getting all of the notes, documents, and camera moments this time. After beating the game, I got the Pulitzer Prize achievement for being thorough. How wonderful.
Outlast is a survival-horror game that's much like the Amnesia series. Enemies do a large amount of damage to the player, and the player is completely defenseless. The goal is to survive rather than fight. As a defenseless reporter armed only with a night vision camera, the player has to make use of hiding spots and running to evade being murdered horrifically by patients in an insane asylum.
I'd strongly recommend playing this with good headphones while sitting alone at night with all the lights off. It will give you a good scare or two.
