This is your first boss and he can be a bit tricky to defeat especially solo.
Use your skills, interrupt every chance you get and have either weapon leech life or skill leech life to replenish your health and there is an ammo box in the area.
Gauss uses lighting altered powers and can create a metal shield to protect himself, blast you with lightning and drop lightning attacks from the sky in a variety of places.
Keep using dodge and hit him with everything.
