After all the recent Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast wonky PC LAN videos I uploaded recently, it’s time to get back to basics with some good old fashioned original Xbox 2 player system link fun times. The system link, for me at any rate, seems to offer a far more stable multiplayer experience, with what’s happening with your opponents car on YOUR screen being represented far more accurately than over a wireless LAN on my 2 PCs. Although it’s not 100% perfect, there’s practically none of the business of the other player’s car just appearing and disappearing at random and then driving sporadically all over your screen.

I’m playing in the red car in the left hand screen, my buddy Lights is the other player in the right hand screen. These are some far more closely fought games than all the other Xbox system link games I’ve previously uploaded. We are practically neck-and-neck the whole way through. We keep the slow car catch-up on in all these games (as I have done in all the previous Outrun videos) to keep things interesting and stop one player getting too far out in the lead.
