This is my first ever arcade build which took me about three months to complete. The day after I first started work on this (drilling holes for all the screws and putting stuff together using fixing blocks) I fell off my bike whilst cycling home from work and broke my thumb on my left hand... FFS! So annoying as, I'm sure you can imagine, only having one good hand to work with slowed progress down quite a bit. Fortunately, Photoshop doesn't need 2 hands, so I could at least crack on with designing the marquee and control panel art whilst I was splinted up.

The Al-Cade was put together entirely in my one bedroom apartment and basically took over all my living space during it's construction. If you're in a similarly living situation and are planning something like this, I'll warn you now that sanding, drilling and spray painting in a one bedroom place is a major pain in the arse. Despite using lots of dust sheets, everything I own got covered in a layer of sticky white dust every time I sprayed the cabinet, which was a right hassle to clean up afterwards.

The Street Fighter remix you can hear during the building montage is called 'Select Fighter II - SFV Player Select ver.2' by Rukunetsu - you can hear the full version here: https://youtu.be/qgsvdIyk9ZI
