Over the Reich is an Avalon Hill board strategy wargame of the 80s, which was ported to PC in 1996. Even with some pretty blatant mistakes in the plane stats (production of the very shallow knowledge of german planes at the time, I explain it in the video) is still a very nice game to play, very interesting and entertaining and quite challenging to boot.

You tell your pilots what to do in a very detailed fashion. Energy fighting is viable, as is Boom and Zoom or turnfighting, depending on the particular plane you're flying and the situation you're at. ACM work really well given the very sharp control you have on your plane attitude and maneouvers- you can pull vertical reversals, SplitSs, high yoyos, low yoyos, lag displacement rolls, and they all work extremely well. As such I think this is a pretty nice tool to train yourself for getting the right tactical mind when you're actually flying a simulator or an aircraft game such as War Thunder.

The game comes with a pretty nice campaign for each of the three nations representad, an "operation" gamemode where you conduct a single sortie you select between several scenarios available, and a "dogfight" mode that gets you directly into battle- and Dogfight has a very nice editor that lets you build your own battles with the planes you want and starting in whatever situation you want to be in.

I highly reccomend this one. Works well in Windows 7 (strange for a game this old) and all that's required to enjoy it to (almost) the full (almost because you'll get no videoclips that were present in the full game) is to download it, as it is abandonware, and as such, free to download and play.
