War Thunder: when broken happens.
To fully understand why that the F8F 360 degree reversal costed him no energy whatsoever is just plain wrong watch this FCS video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7-nublBMq0
It's not easy to fly german since 1.33 release. Legions of people in wrongly matchmaked Spitfire IXs, legions of americans on high rate of climb F8Fs, life is pretty tough for the average german flier.
Still one thing is going up against high performance planes, or against planes with wrong matchmaking that still are vulnerable to smart flying and energy management. That is always a challenge and if you love those, hard times translate into fun times. That's usually my case.
Another different thing is noticing, time after time, that the game is simply betraying you because you not only have to face planes you shoudn't, but that you get killed by people pulling up absolutely unbelievable nature-defying stunts that have no place in a game that is proud of portraying realistic air combat phisics. And then is when the problem really begins.
I'm conscious this is a huge rant, but is a needed one - the kind of stuff you can see in this clip can have a place in World of Warplanes, but has no place at all in War Thunder, at least not in historical battles. Not just an obviously broken flight model that gives some planes an energy retention ability that would be hard to believe in a crate with an anti-G device slapped on their butt, but because you can spot how some planes have HB controllability akin to that of Arcade Battles - and that is nothing short of intolerable in a serious game which selling point is "fidelity and realism".
Also, if you're thinking about why there's no F8F analysis (nor there will be one until fixed) - here is a good reason: I don't do reviews on obviously broken flight model planes.
Have fun!.
