PlayStation 5 gamers are having to wait after developer Blizzard unveiled the new additions in a patch which promises "optimized for Xbox Series X/S enhancements".
These include adding a "preferred mode" graphics option allowing users to switch between three different presets - Resolution, Balanced and Framerate - which adjust video settings to bias towards image quality, resolution, and framerate.
Resolution "prefers higher-resolution output at the cost of some image-quality" (Series X: 4K @ 60Hz, Series S: 1440p @ 60Hz), while balanced is the reverse (Series X: 1440p @ 60Hz, Series S: 1080p @ 60Hz).
Finally, framerate "prefers higher frame-rate at 120 frames-per-second at the cost of both image-quality and resolution" (Series X: 1440p @ 120Hz, Series S: 1080p @ 120Hz).
The new patch has also gone live with some updates for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but PS5 gamers haven't been so lucky yet.PlayStation 5 gamers are having to wait after developer Blizzard unveiled the new additions in a patch which promises "optimized for Xbox Series X/S enhancements".
