In this video, Pac Land, released in 1989 for the Atari ST by Grandslam Entertainment.
Set on his home island, Pac, the most famous computer character ever, resolve to help a lost fairy home to Fairyland. In order to succeed he must pass through towns, forests, mountains, deserts and ravines, all full of dangers and ghosts. The ghosts are Pac's relentless enemies Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde. Once Pac reaches Fairyland, he frees the fairy from under his hat and is gifted a pair of flying shoes from the Queen to return home easily.
The ST port of Pac Land is graphically faithful to the original coin-op. The scrolling is good and the sound is also good. But, having played the original arcade a lot, back in the days, I feel that this port has been cut here and there, it's shorter and it feels "empty". The controls are also much different, like the jump that it's slow and uncontrollable while in air. Summing up Pac Land for the ST is good but not so good, a missed opportunity.
Here you'll find loading screens and gameplay of the first trip to fairyland and back to home.

All footage taken from original hardware machines and upscaled to 1080P.
