Padge Plays! Indie Edition: Wheels Of Aurelia (2016 - Santa Ragione) A 1970's Narrative Road Trip
Welcome to Padge Plays! Indie Edition
This time around we're travelling around Italy in the 1970's in the narrative road trip game Wheels of Aurelia by Santa Ragione!
So I was going through all the free games I've received through the Epic store giveaways since they started and I came across this interestingly titled game and I figured, why not give it a whirl? You play as a woman called Leila who is on their way to France with another lady she picked up from a night club called Olga who is pregnant. Apparently there are several endings to this game which can have completely different outcomes to the two ladies we start with as well as several people you can meet along the way but for the sake of one episode and giving you an incentive to explore the game yourself we look at just the one ending in this playthrough.
So join me as we drive along the road less travelled in gaming in Wheels of Aurelia!
- ABOUT THE GAME -
A narrative road trip game set in the roaring Italian 70s, it tells the story of Lella, a restless woman driving on the roads of the western coast of Italy, the famous “Via Aurelia”.
This is an interactive fiction in the shape of an isometric driving game and with a focus on replayability: every playthrough lasts about fifteen minutes and there are sixteen different endings to discover.
The 1970s in Italy were a time of terrorism, kidnappings, and political turmoil. Based on your choices and the places you'll decide to visit you may end up in car chases, illegal street races, or in tense debates with a catholic priest, and more from a cast of characters that you have never met before in a video game.
- History -
Wheels of Aurelia is rooted in culturally and historically researched events of the 1970’s, striving to challenge the stereotypical perception of Italy. The game showcases a time in Italy’s history never before explored in a videogame.

(Such as WinVice C64)
