The Thing is one of my favorite movies of all time so there was no way I could pass up the chance to hear out my Father's criticisms of it. Although he made very coherent arguments asserting that the film is unfaithful to to what life was like in 1982's Antarctica he does acknowledge that The Thing is well-crafted movie with other merits.
