Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake - Ch. 6 - Three Days of Excess (pt. 4)
0This video closes out 'Chapter 6'. There's a couple things in Rogueport that we can do, now that we have the 'Ultra Boots', including grabbing the 'Ultra Hammer'. Once we grab that, there's also a few more places we can hit before heading off to 'Chapter 7'.
Originally, I was going to pause here and do the two main optional side quests: the Pit of 100 Trials and the various Trouble Center missions. There's worthy prizes for grabbing each, but we'll hold off for now. We'll focus on just finishing up here. Let's a go!
CHAPTER 6 - THREE DAYS OF EXCESS (PT. 4)
We ride the Excess Express back to Rogueport and immediately, we're hit by an email from Peach. Things are starting to look urgent and it appears she's stashed away on the Moon?! So we'll have to figure that out too. When you're back in the main square of town, you can use a Spring Jump to finally access the treasure chest on the platform here. Jump underneath it to knock it down.
It will contain the Ultra Hammer! I forgot what was in this treasure chest and wondered if I could've already accessed it earlier. Nope! Only now can you grab this. For now, we'll head to the T-YD and present the sixth star. The map reveals that the final star is located on... the Moon?! What a coincidence, right?
Professor Frankly needs some time to research how to get there, so we'll go grab a few things. First, if you gave the green Ratooey at the docks any money at the beginning of the game, he'll be back now. He will repay your generosity three-fold! Make sure to double-upgrade all of your partners, if you haven't already.
Next, we'll head to west underground Rogueport. Go to the bottom-left side and return back to the boat tile we saw earlier. Now swim all the way to the right. We can grab the last Shine Sprite here now that we have the Spring Jump. Use Yoshi's ability to get to the platform, then Koops to grab the 'Defend Plus' badge on the platform on the right.
Now head to the warp zone located under the Rogueport center square and smash the stone block here to get the 'FP Plus' badge. Lastly, we'll head to the watery portion near the pipe to Petalburg. You can spring jump and use the pipe to cross to the platform all the way to the far right. This leads you to a small room with a star piece.
On the way out, use the spring jump again to climb the other side of the pipe. Use Bobbery's ability on the small ledge here to blow an opening and grab the treasure on the other side. It contains a 'Defend Plus P' badge, so now we have the both! Head back to Professor Frankly's when Goombella indicates it should be time.
Professor Frankly will tell you that you need to go to 'Fahr Outpost' and use the canon there to reach the moon. The pipe to Fahr Outpost is hidden somewhere below Rogueport, however you're given the clue that you need the Ultra Hammer to reach it.
Go back to West Rogueport and fall down the sewer grate. Next to the room with the pipe to Twilight Town, you'll notice another stone block. Smash it and take the pipe here to reach Fahr Outpost.
