Paradise Blue is an interesting little Final-Fantasy-esque game where you take quests, find tokens that allow you to change into a variety of classes, hire mercenaries that provide you with various special abilities and more. While it is admittedly "very inspired" from Final Fantasy, I can't help but like the game somewhat. The story starts with a blue mage, Neil, and an assasin, Amelia, carrying out an assasination plot because their current ruler is sick and is said to not even have a year left to live. From there, "you" come in; a group of generally silent protagonists that were hired to protect Neil and Amelia.

The visuals are old-style Final Fantasy fare and there are lots of abilities to acquire, items to find, and hidden stuff to locate. The music is calm and the theme of the game is decidedly tropical (taking place on a large Island). I don't want to say that the game is a Final Fantasy "hack", but I'd be lying if I said that it had little in common with Final Fantasy. Of course, those who don't find the game that appealing will probably think that it is just a hack of Final Fantasy. Regardless, I found some entertainment value in it. From what I've played, it's mostly easy with a few enemy attacks being very powerful during select instances. Going through the games on just the items I've found in barrels and such seemed to provide a moderate balance of difficulty...easy, but not a complete breeze.
