"But Jug, do you think it's appropriate to have this kind of acted out theological conversation in a gameplay video?"
answer:
If you think this is 'just a gameplay video', you're clearly in the wrong place. =)

Why is Josh so important?
If you're new here, some remarks:
Joshua Stone is a dead character in the story. He is David Stone (aka Cleric)'s only son, killed by a bomb-mail delivered at his gate by the Drug Cartel, inside a package that made it look like a toy. He was 4 years old at the time. Cleric deals with an overwhelming sense of guilt for the tragedy and mostly has become a living-dead workaholic, after his marriage also failed. His most present companion is his AI assistant. In other words, nobody.
He has made a number of important remarks about the tragedy in the series, so that you can understand his mindset a little better.
See below some timestamps:
• It Gets Dirty and Personal - Amos Vol... (first mention of Joshua)
• Julia's Rescue|Codename: Cleric 13|A ... (a clarifying - and heart-breaking - monologue about his loss and motives)
also
• Cleric's View of his World | Interlud... (this earlier monologue underlines his pessimism and lack of hope and faith)
Cleric's ex-wife is Julia B. Stone:
She was kidnapped in episode 12 in a desperate attempt to stop his investigation. Cleric reacts by going off the grid, wearing a balaclava and an unpatched uniform and posing as a hitman sent to take out one of the Ring leaders who screwed-up. Using a smart interrogation technique (to pretend to know the information he's after by posing as someone who would obviously know - "do you know who sent me?" ), he discovers the principal mastermind behind the Criminal Group - US Senator Frank J. Wilson. He also discovers where his ex-wife is being kept.
Julia is rescued in episode 13.
• Julia's Rescue|Codename: Cleric 13|A ...
The whole ordeal has a deep impact on her. She experiences, for the second time, the sheer amount of evil some people are capable of, and finally understands that 'someone must do something' to stop them. You can see her saying that in episode 14:
• The Face of the Beast|Codename: Cleri... (Julia Opens Up Her Heart)
After some time, she gets back to David, finding his lack of initiative in contacting her very concerning. You can watch it on episode 17:
• Severing the Head of the Snake|Codena... (Julia)
After watching those exchanges you'll be up to speed to fully understand the importance of this episode's final conversation, and the impact it has caused on David.
As always, thank you so much for being here. Love you all,
Jug
