GAME CHANGING Stealth Mode AI Mod for Ready or Not!
*Why throw away a great idea before trying to fix it?*
The 'dreaded' hostage scenario on the old Port Hokan was totally broken. The gameplay felt repetitive and boring: you were always detected early and suspects would execute the hostages on a glimpse. But that was before I added the stealth mode to my AI Mod. The map is still fairly random but, with these tweaks, the run can go just right.
Take a look at how these adjustments improve realism!

There is another aspect that we miss from the earlier RoN builds: The experimentation and the open endedness. The alternative scenarios to the various maps were more than just a bunch of objectives and NPC configs, they were indeed new maps and missions sharing similar basic premises with the SWAT-style 'barricaded suspects' root missions. They were great to show the game's potential beyond Law Enforcement, especially if we had dedicated modders and a good SDK.
The alternative scenarios, more than just good ways to show 'some potential', also could have been used for an important purpose: if you balance them correctly, the right way, you'll have great improvements to use on the root scenarios too, having a better game overall. Flexibility = fair balance = great replayability.
