Paranormal Inc. Playthrough (Both Levels in Version 3.3)
39A quick playthrough of version 3.3 of Paranormal Inc., an Observation Duty style game that uses real footage for levels and anomalies. There are two current levels to play with four being planned from the developer's comments.
This game has a few curiosities in gameplay. First, unlike other games in this genre switching cameras without reporting an anomaly loses the opportunity to report it when returning to that camera (the anomaly will be "fixed" but you won't be able to get credit for reporting it). Second, you must end the night with an 80% success rate of reporting anomalies to succeed and gain points to unlock the second level (false reports will count against your percentage and five false reports is an instant loss). As there is a very large list of anomalies, there can be some confusion as to exactly what anomaly is in play (such as intruders with deciding between "Human Shaped" or "Ghost/Monster/Alien" but also if something counts as a door or cabinet door), particularly with the Sound/Noise anomaly since some anomalies may have an audio cue associated with it. On top of all of this, the spawn rate of anomalies seems to be lower if you move slower through the cameras (I've had nights with 29 anomalies and others, when moving slowly, in the 16-18 range). Moving too slowly (or not switching cameras after reporting an intruder) results in getting attacked for an instant loss (but as whispers precede this it's immediately obvious when you need to switch cameras to avoid being attacked).
Overall, this looks quite promising and something to keep an eye on.
