ParoParo / パロパロ - 1CC Normal Type-I - ALL clear
1st clear on ParoParo!
It feels like my first time finishing a Gradius styled fan-game.
ParoParo is a shmup by Ooe (via STGBuilder), which is inspired in Konami`s Parodius. It`s mostly based on Gokujou Parodius and Sexy Parodius.
It has similar mechanics to the Parodius series, like power bar, power capsules, speed ups, etc.
The !! bar is basicaly the bomber that releases a giant explosion, damaging anything that touches it. The consequence of doing this is that you instantly lose your Force Field.
Dying can be pretty bad in this game, as it strips off all your power-ups equipped. However, you don`t go back to a checkpoint after death because STGBuilder doesn`t have the function of returning to a checkpoint upon death. However, using continiues does return you back to the start of a stage.
Type-I resembles Koitsu/Aitsu.
The Stage 1 Boss does spins that make objects come out of the ground. The red ones release power-up capsules.
This boss can be easily milked for points.
Another method of scoring more points is to sometimes perform a suicide to spawn 3 power capsules and a speed up capsule. It might sound dangerous, so sometimes best to survive ahead and keep the lives for later wanted suicides. (Except the SP stage).
