Brought to you by the worst Thief player of all time.

This demo came bundled in the Windows 98(SE) Sound Blaster Live! driver CD included with a Sound Blaster Live! Value card (typically bundled with computers of the time).

The demo is showing the difference in sound with EAX-supported games like Thief: the Dark Project. And no, I didn't mess anything up; the video footage really just looks that bad.

It was assumed that you'd know how Thief sounded under plain old software Directsound, so I included my own comparison after the demo, and the results really speak for themselves.

There were also other examples of other games like Unreal, which showed how EAX hardware acceleration could increase the number of "voices" which allowed rapid-fire weapons to sound more believable, support for legacy games (and really any sound under Windows) showcased with Starcraft, and a demonstration on how musical instruments can be modulated with many different effects, but nothing on the disc was quite as memorable as seeing somebody apparently playing Thief with their feet.
