I decided to disable the gold rewards for early access to make it seem more like a blue Patchlantis kind of vibe. Also, it seems like the Shiny Pins waited until my second visit before appearing. I'm not sure if this is part of the game design or just strictly different luck on the first two Quests.
In addition, I managed to unlock the Desert Area for faster travel! Only one more region to unlock for now: Hills!
