As I work on this counter-attack build that I altered to use the new General's Cry, we learn that we have a REALLY tough time against bosses that don't melee attack you. So, I make some changes to include an attack to supplement the Warcry and counter attacks. Eventually, it seems clear that my best attack is just shield slam, so instead of cyclone'ing everything like the original guide, we'll just shield slam everything!
