Two years of testing finished, Path of Exile finally fully opened to the public with its 1.0.0 release on October 23, 2013. A monumental occasion for the hundreds of thousands of testers, the action roleplaying game community, and, of course, the dedicated and vigilant developers of Path of Exile, Grinding Gear Games, when PoE ticked up to its first official version, the game hit the ground sprinting. PoE 1.0.0 included a new final boss for Act III, a brand new class, myriad revamps, bug fixes, a set of supporter packs, novel skills, and much, much more.

As we inch nearer to the monumental expansion of Path of Exile with Path of Exile 2, accompany me and numerous other exiles as we explore the entire history of GGG and Path of Exile in the PoE Flashback Series. This is episode four. The fifth one is only past the gates of Lioneye’s Watch.
