Midair cutscene items pause blue switch timers in a similar way that they pause on-screen timers. Every time you do a timer stop, the blue switch resets. It needs 7 consecutive non-timer-stopped frames to unset the switch, so as long as you chain timer stops within 6 frames of each other, you can keep the switch remotely pressed indefinitely. All blue switches are the same if they look like this. Jabu's is different and does not work. Credit to tsundere for the initial discovery in spirit armos room.
