(PC Engine CD) Lords of Thunder - Completed 1 Credit, 1CC 1080p60
Time for another PC Engine shmup replay - this time Hudson's Lords/Winds of Thunder gets the 1CC/No death/Unkillable treatment!
There's not much I can say about the game that isn't already common knowledge; the game isn't very hard (I'd say it's easier than Gate of Thunder, actually) and has a rocking metal soundtrack. I strongly recommend listening to the game over music that recorded after the ending played, timestamped: 41:19
If you are looking to score well in this game, the only 2 points of advice I can offer are 1) make sure you have the max 10,000 crystals before fighting the last boss to maximize your end game bonus, and 2) collecting weapon power-ups when you are fully powered up nets you 500 points, so collect them all if you want to really maximize your score.
This run was played using a "remastered" repro game disc, where the audio levels and some instrumentation has been improved. Both Gate of Thunder and this game had remasters done by "electrohaze" of Dark City Productions in Japan. Here is some info and an image for the Gate of Thunder Remaster if you want to burn your own: http://electrohaze.com/duo/got_r.shtml
This is actually my second 1CC video I recorded for this game; The first unfortunately had several issues due to the CD drive on my Duo-R not reading the disc and either distorting or completely omitting the audio in a few places.
This run the CD drive held up much better, until the very end of the game near the last boss. The audio crackled a bit and the ending music didn't play at all - sorry about that! :(
Played on a PC Engine Duo-R that has been RGB modded, scart output is to the OSSC set to line 3X mode, captured at 1080p/60 in XSplit. No cheats, TAS, ect are used. Eightarc Fusion sanwa joystick used: https://imgur.com/Gd4uMKW
Thanks for watching, as always!
