Mistakes. Started far too late. 5 am start is absolutely not enough time for us to finish the loop before sundown, and moreover forgot to bring extra spare AAA batteries. Whatever the average time for the loop completion by the average person we have to basically double the time with extra slack. Almost completed North loop but running out of time and turned about. End of hike for the day. We are very excruciatingly slow (but not exhausted) at executing this trail and there are not unlimited daylight hours. If we had extra triple AAAs would have finished it. We will finish the loop another allowing for an extraordinary amount of budgeted time and extra head lamp batteries. We are just excruciatingly slow at this trail but endurance of the distance is fine with an very extraordinary amount of allotted time over the average time it takes to complete.
