0As soon as I began my journey in Peglin, I was thrown—literally—into the middle of a forest that seemed peaceful... but I soon realized that the calm was a trap. I'm a little goblin full of revenge, and my only arsenal? Magic balls that bounce off pins as if it were a medieval arcade with magic and monsters.
Peglin, developed by Canadian studio Red Nexus Games, finally arrived on the Xbox and PlayStation family of consoles on May 1, 2025. After winning over players on PC and Nintendo Switch, the title promises to repeat its success with its unique gameplay that mixes pinball, roguelike and turn-based RPG in a creative and fun way. Can it do it?
The first stage, the Enchanted Forest, is where it all begins. But let me tell you: enchanted is just the name. By the second launch, I was already surrounded by jumping slugs and plants with teeth! And the worst part: they didn't wait for a turn. Every mistake when launching the orb cost me dearly.
I started with some basic orbs — those little balls that only cause direct damage, nothing too special — and I had to learn the hard way the importance of critical pins (the little yellow ones) and explosives (the red ones that BOOM, clean everything up if used correctly).
🎯 The Secret Is in the Angle
In the first fight I was just throwing the orb and hoping for success… until I realized that every throw requires strategy. I hit a recharge pin in surprise and saw all the pins come back — an amazing feeling! From then on, I started to plan my shots better. Have you ever imagined making a perfect throw and hitting 30 pins in one go? I did it — and it was epic.
🎁 Relics That Change Everything
On my way through the forest, I came across some mysterious chests. Inside them? Magical relics. One of them made my orbs explode when they hit recharge pins. Another gave me life with each enemy defeated. That's when things started to get interesting: I realized that, in addition to skill, the game has a lot of strategic construction.
💀 The Boss Was Waiting for Me
After crossing treacherous clearings, sticky slugs and orbs that almost got out of control, I reached the end of the forest. The trail got darker, the music changed... and that's when I realized: something BIG was waiting for me.
I won't give any spoilers here - I can only say that the boss of the first stage is not joking around. He appeared suddenly and turned the game into a true test of everything I had learned so far.
