This is an early look at next year's Phoenix Point turn based strategy game. In this pre-alpha release we are allowed to share and also provide feedback while finding bugs in the game. For this build, they have given us a huge update and a ton of new content. All mechanics and graphics are completely subject to change as the game continues to develop.

Phoenix Point is a re-imagining of the turn based combat strategy X-COM UFO Defense game from the 90s. It is being developed by Julian Gollop of Snapshot Games, it's has been described as a Spiritual Successor to the first X-COM. Loved it then, and am loving where this new game is headed. I've been reading the lore available on their info website (https://phoenixpoint.info/archives/), and am pleasantly surprised to learn that this world has a survival horror backdrop. This threat feels much more terrestrial, than extra. I'm getting some real H.P. Lovecraft vibes from a number of stories. There is something else going on here, and I can't wait to see the story unfold in its entirety.
