Well, a long time ago I did Super Metroid with Zelda A Link To the Past, this time is Zelda 1 with Metroid, this is going to be a wild ride, the entire run was recorded using an Everdrive on a Famicom AV with an Elgato HD60 (still lucky that my capture card still works somewhat consistently).

Sakura Sage's intervention POV (in the future outside Phantasy Star related content will be referenced as just plain Sakura): "Hello, this looks pretty interesting, 2 games mixed together is something back in the day only happened like 4 or 5 times in a competitive manner like the Nintendo Championships stuff, but uh... seems like my buddy friendly guide put stuff kind of a hard side with some tiny cosmetic settings while making himself past on a silly challenge as well while randomizing both games, Metroid's hard change was to trigger the lethal lava flag... which makes ANY lava contact an instant-kill, on the Zelda side... well, is Quest 2 so... you have to deal with a lot of shenanigans... you better make sure you have 100+ ruppies at hand almost all the time or else..."

*BONK*

Sakura: "Ouchie!!! why do I get a bonk on my head?!"
Pikangs Futaba: "Well, I could ask you why are you here, ESPECIALLY in a non-Phantasy Star related content."
Sakura: "I was getting bored of waiting for another chance against Magatsu in it's actual Urgent Quests, I still have to get my revenge in it's part 2 you know? or heck, even maybe getting into an Urgent Quest we have still yet to experience in Oracle, or even the Mining Rig Quest in Kvaris on Halpha for good measure, and DON'T forget about Twisted With Hatred as well, you still have to help me to get good equipment and training for that."
Pikangs Futaba: "You know... you have a big point, actually... I think from now on you can give me a helping hand explaining some or all the stuff, beside, I have some plans for a future playthrough that will involve a certain portable game with it's home console game that is infamous for it's difficulty with the in-game rentals compared to using the same stuff from the portable game".
Sakura: "Kyuuuuu!!!! I mean, YAY!!! thanks a bunch for the opportunity, let's do our best together from now on".
Pikangs Futaba: "And completing what Sakura said, a self-impossed challenge of sorts I put myself into is that if I die in Zelda 1, I'm forced to pick the "Retry" option at the continue/save screen, meaning that I have to go back to the last moment I saved the game, it was to add a tiny layer of difficulty due to the fact that in Metroid dying is usually the least of your problems as you're forced to continue playing (and also I denied myself to use a tracker, meaning that I have to memorize or review the recordings to remember what I have done so far), of course, speaking of that Zelda 1 screen, under normal conditions you have to get a Game Over if you want to save your progress... unless you have a 2nd controller and use Down+"A+B on said controller while checking your inventory, in Metroid 1 it returns you to the last respawn spot or at the very start when you load your game when you pause the game... which in this randomized game shows you the map, I dunno exactly how that works to be honest".
