Travelling with the caravan towards the Gilded Vale is attacked by local tribes. Almost everyone is killed by the attack and barely surviving encounter with the bandits another threat rises its head, a mysterious storm hit what’s left of the caravan. You and the guard manage to barely get inside a cave to safety, or so you thought. Exiting the cave let’s you and the guard witness a strange ritual, ritual that has unforeseen consequences. Energy released from the ritual knock you out and as you come back to your senses the guard is lying dead, and you are having visions of dead people. You can only start your way to Gilded Vale and hopefully get some answers from there.
Pillars of Eternity is spiritual successor to the Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale series and Planescape: Torment created by Obsidian Entertainment after successful Kickstarter. Gameplay mechanics are familiar to players who have played e.g. Baldur’s Gate, it is a party based real-time-with-pause tactical gameplay from fixed isometric viewpoint roleplaying game. Player controls character he made at the start of the game and collects companions with him as he explores areas, fight monsters, make choices and resolves quests.
Pillars of Eternity was released on PC 2015, Xbox One and PlayStation 2017 and Nintendo Switch 2019.
