10"Bring back Tapu-Koko" they say, "Can't wait until Miraidon is legal" they whine. Meanwhile Pincurchin is over here like whatever, bruh.
Admittedly, Pincurchin is a strange little mon with a strange stat distribution and an even stranger move pool, but since Pokémon is a thinking man's game (gasp) you'd be surprised what you can come up with if you put a little thought into it.
The first idea I had was to pair it with Alolan-Raichu with weakness policy and trigger it with sucker punch. The sucker punch crit and one-shot Raichu first thing, leaving me in a horrible position against an opponent's Maus-ape lead...so I scrapped that and went with Life Orb, and an ability shield in case I face any specs Weezing mimic teams.
In conclusion, Pincurchin brings more to the table than just a bevy of electrified needles. Electric terrain makes opposing Amoonguss useless (and I guess Venusaur too if it only plans to tank and spam Sleep Powder). Juices up electric attacks for crazy damage, and can be used to offset grassy terrain, psychic terrain, and even misty terrain (if an off-meta team even goes that route). I haven't even talked about acupressure raising a random stat for itself or an ally by +2. Pincurchin is awesome with or without Trick Room, but uh...make a space on your team for Trick Room. No, seriously, get Trick Room up somehow.
