Pints Make Prizes - Pub Quiz Game by Games Warehouse
2In the UK, we have a lot of pubs and bars! In the 90s and early 2000s (before phones had good internet), many of these places would have pub quiz machines.
Since phones got better internet, these types of machines were slowly phased out (As its way easier to cheat). Sadly, they were replaced mostly by gambleing software (The same machines, but with slot machien software). So now, no knowledge is really required.
On these types of quiz games, you could test your knowledge and potentially win money! If the machines are not paying out, then it'll give you very hard questions towards the end. That is normal.
The longer a win is not detected, the easier it is to win. So you would wait for people to have a drunken session on it, lose all their money, then come along, as sober as a priest, and get some big wins. This would usually happen at night time, as that's when drunk people tend to play. When I finished a run, or meeting with friends, I would pop into the pubs and do this as I was heading home.
Pints Make Prizes was a pretty good game. You can use some Bonus' to get you out of trouble. It's 50p per play and getting ยฃ1 is usually quite easy.
The game plays similar to hangman but with general knowledge questions. You get 6 lives total.
In this video, you can see the game was clearly not paying out as it was daytime and the machine looked like it didn't have much playtime today.
When you switch these machines off, I believe the counter resets and it becomes hard to win again.
These machines are pretty rare now, so I figured I would make a video!
