In this Rocket League gameplay video, FLuuMP and I discuss the placebo effect in rocket league.
The placebo effect in rl is a term often used to define a perceived change while in reality everything is the same. A key example of the Placebo effect in Rocket League would be to change a topper and feel better. It is absolutely placebo, because toppers do not affect anything in rl, it is only cosmetic.
The funny thing with the placebo effect is that even if it's all mental, it still works! If I told you X Rocket League topper would make you grand champion, even if it doesn't change anything to your car, and then you'd get GC, it'd be all placebo, but in the end, it worked right?
