Ok, i never use microphone-headphone combinations on my computer; I always use the onboard mic and speakers. I never felt the need, as I would just use a set of headphones to knock down echo, and help improve my listening clarity. The few occasions that I have used a headset have always been cumbersome ear muff types that fit over the ear. I have found the Plantronics Blackwire 435 to be much more comfortable and less cumbersome than some of the over the ear style - very Uhra like in the original Star Trek episodes, and much less like I am assisting an F-15 to take off from the USS Abraham Lincoln; though this is my preference, but if you prefer the over-the-ear style, Plantronics does make several varieties that would suite your style; like the Plantronics Gamecom 777. The sound quality is high for all ranges and sounds, with a full feel for both highs and lows as good as any inner ear headphones I have ever used - and I spent most of the time using them while using Skype (or a similar program) and listening to music, without a falloff of quality, clarity, and without a single bit of distortion - either from the mic, or from the ear pieces. the Biggest issue I found was that the device utilizes USB - as it is, I have a Mouse plugged into one port, music in another, And the headset in the 3rd, so those with a limited amount of open USB slots, such as on a smaller laptop might find it difficult to manage all their peripherals at once. All in all, it is definitely clean and clear quality that makes it more than a worthwhile purchase, And now, please excuse me to go enjoy the Plantronics Blackwire 435's while I spend my evening watching X-Men First Class on the laptop, awaiting my next call. Thanks, and as always, Enjpy Your Entertainment!
