It's Capcom's Star Gladiator sequel for the Dreamcast. In all honesty, I don't know what to think of this one. I remember it getting panned somewhat by magazine publications and I guess it is a mixed bag. Like the original game that came out in the Arcades and for Playstation, characters have different combo trees and special attacks, but also like the original, some attacks don't link the way they should and can leave characters very vulnerable and there's a lot of cheap hits to go around... especially if you time it just right as someone gets up, where it COUNTS as a combo extension.

This game has a number of mechanics that help to level the playing field such as side stepping, counter abilities, super moves, and the game's innovative "Plasma Field". The plasma field grants each character a special power that they can use to torment the opponent for a limited amount of time and they can only run so far as you're encased inside a cube. You do not want to be trapped in a Plasma Field as it is often a cheap predicament to be in. The cast of characters is deceptively large. The reason I say this is because most characters beneath the main characters fight almost exactly the same, but have different super moves. The exception to this is Kaede, who's a bit under-developed but has a humorous "Whack-A-Mole" plasma field ability.

Plasma Sword... you be the judge. It's another Capcom fighter. Enjoy.
