Back in 2002, the JP gaming website 4Gamer organized a scoring competition on Shikigami no Shiro EX's IR Mode in order to celebrate the release of that port. The competition took place between the 10th of August and the 16th of September, and the highest score on the online password-based leaderboards for each of the characters will win a prize.

IR Mode is an arranged version of the game that can be found in the old PC port (named Shikigami no Shiro EX). That version changes most of the stage layouts in a way that's similar to EVO mode, however not all areas are changed such as 2-3. However, the boss patterns are all similar to their Arcade counterparts, with the noticeable exception of the 5-1 crystals which are now completely invincible to prevent any milking on those.

This is a recording of one of the replays played through Shikigami no Shiro EX. In order to playback the replay file, all you have to do is download the replay, keep it zipped, launch the game, go in a replay menu (Normal or IR, doesn't matter) and drag and drop the replay file from your computer's file explorer to the Shikigami no Shiro EX game window. The game will react to the replay and instantly play it.
