Playing Blur (2010) In 2023
Please watch in HD for the highest available quality.
Just like Project Gotham Racing 4, Blur (2010) is one of those racing games I consider fairly underrated and an absolute blast to play even to this day. Blur (2010) is basically a vehicular-combat game akin to Re-Volt and Mario Kart but with licensed cars, trucks, jeeps, etc and a unique career mode. The selection of vehicles are quite variable and also have different style of handling for each class (e.g Grip for tighter turns and checkpoint events but usually slower and more vulnerable to incoming power-up attacks). The gameplay is great with the power-ups being the highlight as it makes the racing very exciting and fun as hell. However the opponent AI can sometimes be cheating rats in certain events (looking at you Khan...) and the rubber-banding can be ridiculous at the hardest difficulty. Nonetheless if you have an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, then you might give this game a try if possible (the prices for physical copies are kinda all over the place with the cheapest price I bought for was just under 20 Canadian Dollars) and especially if you really enjoy the likes of Mario Kart, Re-Volt and even Split Second (2010). On PC on the other hand......you might want to ask your local "internet pirates of the Caribbean" to see if they can help since the game hasn't been sold in digital stores for the longest time since Bizarre Creations shutdown in 2011.
