After the disappointing GRiD 2019 reboot game, Grid Legends was released on February 25, 2022 to a positive reception with some mixed reactions to the fanbase but it leaned to the positive side, at least compared to GRiD 2019. I played this game via Game Pass on PC and on my Xbox One S. I didn't play the game fully until getting the game on sale last year on Steam. So far, it's pretty decent all around with career mode going back to its roots with the TOCA Race Driver style of "storytelling" (i.e barebones story with some memorable moments and characters to a degree in the short cutscenes). However the customization regarding building your team, garage of cars, etc still lacks compared to Race Driver Grid (2007) and even Grid 2. As good as Grid Autosport is in terms of no frills yet decent gameplay, presentation, and graphics severely lacked personality in career mode with GRiD 2019 being even worse in that regard despite having features such as hiring teams, placing sponsors, etc. That being said Grid Legends is a great entry to the series after the lackluster previous installments since Grid 2.
