Killer Instinct is a 2.5D fighting game developed by Rare and published by Midway. It was originally released for arcades in October 1994, and ported to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Game Boy the following year. The game's plot involves an all-powerful corporation organizing a fighting tournament.

Aspects of Killer Instinct's core gameplay were influenced from SNK fighting games, namely both the World Heroes and the Fatal Fury series, particularly Kim Dragon and Kim Kaphwan characters.Killer Instinct featured more detailed graphics and more diverse characters than any other games of its genre as well as some gameplay elements unique to fighting games of the time. Instead of fighting enemies in best-of-three-rounds bouts, each player has two life bars.

The player that depletes the other player's life bars first wins the match. The game also introduced "auto-doubles", a feature which allows players to press a certain sequence of buttons to make characters automatically perform combos on opponents.

Also featured in the game are "combo breakers", special defensive moves that can interrupt combos.A critical and commercial success, Killer Instinct, was followed by a sequel, the 1996 arcade game Killer Instinct 2, later ported to the Nintendo 64 as Killer Instinct Gold, as well as a new 2013 game rebooting the franchise, serving as a launch title for Xbox One.

A port of the original game is included with the 2013 game under the title Killer Instinct Classic. Retrospective lists by various publications included it among the best fighting games of all time.

Prior to his fall from grace, he was even more cocky than he is presently, but after his humbling defeat at the hands of Ultratech, he was a broken man for many years before finally building up the courage and resolve to fight back. He has to push himself to get back up when he falls, but he realizes that if he doesn’t get back up, he won’t go anywhere at all.

Abilities

Combo is quite a skilled, brutal, and agile fighter with his boxing style. In the original universe, his bionic arm implants gave him punching power far beyond the average human and allows him to go toe-to-toe with all kinds of inhuman opponents.

Story

TJ Combo was once the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for five years straight. He was stripped of his title for his use of cybernetic enhancements in his arms, he fights to regain his lost fame and fortune.Extended StoryHaving to fight his way from a seedy backstreet gym to the world heavyweight title through sheer raw power and aggression, after 5 years at the top T. J. "Combo" Garrett is brought crashing down by his own overwhelming greed.

Having blown most of his cash on titanium arm implants to ensure that the title remained his, Combo is stripped of his belt, wealth and public respect when the Ultratech surgeon who performed the operation sells his story to the media.

Furious and humiliated, Combo returns to his old ghetto haunts and vows to defy the world at large in reaching the top once more. EndingWith victory in the tournament, Combo has finally achieved his ambition to regain his lost fortune and popular status. Once a nobody from the ghetto, Combo celebrates his win and newfound wealth by parading through those same streets. With money and fame at his side, Combo believes he can now achieve anything.

Hi there, i decided to try Killer Instinct, with T J Combo, he never was my go to character at the Arcades, i played Fulgore, Cincer and Orchid for the most part, so no previous arcade experience with him, but thowing punches with him is awesome, it's like and upgraded version of Balrog from the Street Fighter series, more brutal in it's combos and overall attacks, imo.

Killer Instinct's difficulty and game speed is quite high, also it's playing sure gives one's gamepad quite the beating.
Eyedol was a pain to beat, but after a few attempts i managed to beat him, only to have the game mocking me, LOL.
