Killer Instinct (2013) is a reboot of the Killer Instinct series that began in 1994. Initially developed by Double Helix Games during Season 1, development was handed over to Iron Galaxy for the remainder of the game's dev lifetime. It was released exclusively for the Xbox One on November 22, 2013 but was later ported to PC through the Windows 10 Store on September 20, 2016 and Steam on September 27, 2017. One of the first major fighting games released with rollback netcode, KI's online helped to lead the charge towards FGs with well functioning netplay, matching with or even still surpassing the netcode quality of contemporary releases despite being nearly a decade old.

The legendary fighting franchise is back with over-the-top action, a wild cast of combatants, rocking reactive music, and C-C-C-COMBO BREAKERS!!! Choose your ultimate combatants each with fluid animations, unique combat tactics, and enthralling special attacks. Use the open-ended combo system to rack up huge combos as your opponent looks for openings to break you and turn the tides of battle. Go online and compete against players from all over the world, or master your combat skills with in-depth tutorials and intelligent AI combatants.

While bearing some resemblance to the Street Fighter series in movement and button layout, the overall pace of the game is much quicker. The most distinguishing gameplay mechanic is the combo and combo breaker systems. Instead of a link or chain based combo system, KI has a specific combo state that is covered in the Combo System.

Combos must have a breakable point to be valid, which means there is always an opportunity for the defensive player to break out of it and return to neutral. Combo Breakers mean that even if you are getting hit, your head has to stay in the match and they force both players to be constantly engaging in mind games. Compounding this is the extremely risky and just as rewarding Counter Breaker, a mechanic allowing the offensive player to call out their opponent's breaking habits and severely punish them for being predictable, all while leaving themselves stuck in an excruciatingly long animation unable to block if their opponent doesn't take the bait. The unrelenting pace of both neutral and offense combined with the unique Combo System has garnered KI a reputation as an extremely fast and punishing game, but if you are in need of a game with a zany, high power cast and extremely hype reads based moments, then look no further than Killer Instinct (2013).

UltraTech File - Fulgore

Fulgore is a highly-advanced heavy assault cyborg and the world's first artificial soldier, created by Ultratech. One of the most iconic characters of the Killer Instinct franchise, Fulgore made its original debut in the Killer Instinct (1994) arcade game as a playable character as well as the penultimate boss before Eyedol, and has remained playable throughout all the Killer Instinct games since. Fulgore represents a "Shotokan" character; utilizing zoning and close quarters combat in a way that's easy to use but difficult to master.

Protocols reactivated. Enhanced system bootstrap complete. A new Fulgore prototype is online, with a singular directive: ELIMINATE ENEMIES OF ULTRATECH. However, the mind of the machine is different. It plans. It feels. It is aware. It is somehow... human.

Hi there, i decided to see if my PC could handle well the Killer Instinct Reboot from 2013, i've known the game for several years, but never played it because i didn't have a good enough PC to do it, i'm so glad it runs smoothly on my current PC because this game is a beast of a fighting game, and so much fun to play too; the combo system is insane, the gameplay is also very good, the graphics are still top notch today for a game that 10 years old, imo the team that wrote the code for this game deserves a Gaming Nobel Prize, it's is trully a fighting game for the ages, and one of the best fighting games EVER!

I will enjoy discovering the new chacaters of KI reboot and rediscovering the ones i already know from the original KI game in this rebooted incarnation, so there's lots to learn and discover, as i plan to upload my first time playing each character of the KI roster.
