I challenged the Team Rocket Grunt in Cerulean City and manage to defeat him easily thanks to Chu. Afterwards I head south towards Vermillion City. On the way I met a veteran trainer with Pokémon from Hisui, who I battle with borrowed Pokémon. When I win, he rewards me with an Eevee! After arriving in Vermillion, I head to the Pokémon fan club where I get a bike voucher and access to learning punch and bite moves!
