Cryo Interactive's first graphical adventure was also their most well received game. It mixes both strategy- and adventure-elements in a really satisfying way. In my personal opinion, "Dune" is one of Cryo's most flawless game-experiences. It feels extremely polished, well explained and every game-element fits the story and flows out of it in a natural way. Graphics fit their era but are still pleasant for the eyes even today. Add to that the now classic and still atmospheric score by Stéphane Picq, created for the Adlib(gold)-soundcard and you've a strong recipe for one of the better and popular games of its era. MUSICAL & TECHNICAL NOTES
* I played this game in Dosbox-X 0.82.19.
* The score was originally composed for the Adlib-soundcard but sounded even more awesome on an AdLib Gold 1000 + Surround Module, which creates stereo- and reverb-effects.
- In Dosbox X you can emulate the stereo-effect a little bit. It's far from perfect, but I did it anyway for this playthrough: in the Dosbox-config file, choose "oplmode=opl3gold" and select "Adlib Gold" as music in the setup of Dune.
